The Institute for Advanced Dietary Studies

For the Press

The story in one sentence

A beautifully bound hardcover that says what every weight-loss book says in 60,000 words — in one sentence, supported by forty-two real, verified scientific references.

Release

INSTITUTE PUBLISHES COMPLETE SCIENCE OF WEIGHT LOSS; BOOK CONTAINS ONE SENTENCE.

The Institute for Advanced Dietary Studies has published The Principles of Weight Loss: Complete and Unabridged, with Full Scientific References (hardcover, 100 pages, $19.99), the first volume of The Complete Library of Human Improvement. The work distills the modern weight-loss literature — thousands of trials, cohort studies, and systematic reviews — to the single sentence the evidence supports, and prints the evidence. “We have removed everything that does not bear directly on the result,” write the Editors. The method appears on page 33. The references are real. The Institute anticipates no revisions.

Facts for fact-checkers

The finding is consistent with the published guidance of the World Health Organization, the American Heart Association, and the United States Dietary Guidelines. All 42 references are genuine, were verified against PubMed prior to publication, and are linked on the Research page. The Institute maintains no offices and has never accepted payment from anyone.

Enquiries

The Institute responds to written enquiries only when its answer is complete. A spokesperson is available in writing. Review copies are available to working press and to persons who seem nice.
