The Institute for Advanced Dietary Studies

The useful portion of most expert advice is briefer than the books that contain it.

— Founding conviction of the Institute

About the Institute

The Institute for Advanced Dietary Studies was founded to advance a simple proposition: that the value of advice is not measured by its length. The Institute reviews the scientific literature in its entirety, retains what survives scrutiny, and publishes the remainder — however brief the remainder proves to be.

The Institute maintains no offices, accepts no funding from the sugar industry, and publishes its findings only when they are complete.

Its first finding, The Principles of Weight Loss: Complete and Unabridged, with Full Scientific References, is one sentence long. The Institute stands behind it. The forty-two references supporting it are real, and are catalogued on the Research page for public inspection.

Nothing published by the Institute constitutes medical advice. Readers with medical conditions are directed, sincerely, to their physicians.
